Antique
Pine Products
We
have a full range of solid antique pine products available. From
flooring blanks, to beams, to finished flooring and accessories,
we try to utilize as much of this beautiful material as possible.
Flooring
Blanks
We
sell direct to manufacturers of heartpine flooring truckload quantities
of flooring blanks. These are flooring beams that have been cut
into 1" blanks for flooring. We do the hard part for you
- deconstructing, denailing, removing the paint side and the gritty
flooring side - providing to you a blank that will provide beautiful
3/4" finished flooring. You can focus on providing a quality
product with your milling equipment. Call us for pricing on these
quality flooring blanks.
Flooring
Most
flooring companies provide random length flooring to you with
the defects(we prefer to call them "character marks")
cut out before it gets to you. We provide full length flooring
boards to you. You decide the resulting look of your flooring
by deciding how much of the character marks you will leave in.
Also, our style of flooring is center matched, which means that
the Tongue and Groove in the flooring is centered so that it matches
up whichever side you choose to use, so that you can evaluate
each board and decide which side you want in your floor - one
side might have more character marking than the other. This extends
the usage of this material - rather than cutting out every mark,
and leaving a lot of good material on the floor.
Beams
The
mills we deconstruct are made of many different size beams - from
flooring beams, to massive 11"X17" structural support
beams, we try to bring as many of them as possible down intact.
We make these available as is. These beams provide a massive historic
appearance to any structure they are included in. Check our inventories
or call us and we will work with you to find the right beams for
your project.
Beam Skins
These little babies will surprise you! We take the paint side
of the beam off to save our planer blades and found these "skins"
have a beauty all of their own! Approximately 1/4" thick,
one side displays the worn paint side and the other is beautiful
heartpine. We have found these make beautiful wall paneling, no
matter which side you use. An economical way to get a historic
look in that special room.
Columns
These mills were constructed using a post and beam construction
method, using 10" Solid heartpine columns as supports throughout.
These columns look like telephone poles, but when you sand them,
they show the rich color of heartpine! They actually have a 1
1/4" hole drilled through the center the entire length of
them - an amazing feat over 100 years ago. Most are very tight
grain heart pine. The cast iron caps that were used to hold these
columns in place are available also.
Historic
Bricks
The
Springs Textile Mill had a large quantity of handcast bricks that
were made on the site in 1895. We took great care in salvaging
as many of these bricks as possible. We have moved the majority
of these historic bricks, but there are still some of these available.
Check our inventory pages for availability or call to arrange
for shipping these bricks to your project site. These are stacked
in 500 brick pallets for ease of handling. The color is said to
be salmon orange.
